The Mossberg Maverick 88 – Security 12 gauge pump action shotgun is an affordable and reliable defensive firearm from a name you can trust. At its heart, the 88 is a budget friendly version of the acclaimed Mossberg 500 with a number of parts made overseas and assembled in America. Among the most notable differences, a cross bolt safety replaces the iconic tang mounted safety of the 500.  While some esthetic corners were cut to meet the 88’s low price point, reliability was not. This no-frills workhorse features dual extractors, steel-to-steel lockup, twin action bars, and anti-jam elevator ensure reliability when you need it most. As an added bonus, the Maverick 88 is compatible with 500 accessory stocks, barrels, and Accu-choke tubes of the same gauge and capacity. The Maverick 88 uses durable, light weight polymer furniture that is designed to take whatever abuse you can throw at it. The 88 Security sports an 20″ blued barrel with a bead front sight that works well in confined spaces and swings quickly on target. A fixed cylinder bore choke results in tight shot patterns at close range where most defensive encounters occur. The Maverick 88 Security delivers the features and reliability you need with none of the frills or extra cost you don’t. This model features an extended tube magazine with a total capacity of 7+1.
